At Ocean Dental, we use advanced light-based and fluorescence technology to detect tissue changes that may not be visible to the naked eye. A handheld device shines a safe blue or fluorescent light inside your mouth. Healthy tissue appears one color, while areas of concern reflect differently, helping catch potential issues early. The process is painless, noninvasive, and takes only a few moments.

During the scan, you’ll stand or sit comfortably while resting your chin on a small support and your head against a stabilizing pad. The machine then gently rotates around your head, taking a quick, 360-degree image. The process is completely painless, noninvasive, and takes less than a minute.

Who Should Be Screened?

Everyone can benefit from regular oral cancer screenings, but the following individuals are considered higher risk:

֍ Tobacco users (including vaping or smokeless tobacco)

֍ Frequent alcohol consumers

֍ Individuals with significant sun exposure (lip cancer risk)
