Founded by Dr. Elizabeth Sugg, DDS — a dentist with over 17 years of experience in restorative, preventive, and cosmetic dentistry — our practice has grown entirely through patient referrals and word of mouth. Dr. Elizabeth Sugg, DDS, brings over 17 years of experience in restorative, preventive, and cosmetic dentistry. Before founding Ocean Dental, Dr. Sugg ran a private practice in Ohio, served as a dental provider for the United States Marine Corps at Parris Island and the United States Army, and taught at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. She personally sees every patient at every visit.
Supporting Dr. Sugg is a close-knit team of dental professionals who have been with the practice for years — many since nearly the beginning. What to Expect
Step 1 — Before Your Visit
Before your visit, we’ll email you a short health history form to complete at home at your own pace. No clipboards, no waiting room paperwork. Just show up — we’ll handle the rest.
Step 2 — Your First Appointment (about 1 hour)
You’ll be warmly greeted by our team the moment you walk in. Our hygienist will begin your professional cleaning while we reviews your health history and prepare your personalized exam — so your time is used efficiently from the start.
Step 3 — Your Care Plan
We will sit down with you, walk through the findings in plain language, and present your options clearly. No pressure, no surprises — just an honest conversation about your dental health and the best path forward.
Initial Examination
Your first visit takes about one hour — enough time to do things properly without rushing. Our hygienist will perform a thorough professional cleaning and take any necessary digital X-rays.
Dr. Sugg and her team will then complete your full examination, review your oral health history, and listen carefully to any concerns you have.
You’ll leave with a clear picture of your dental health, a personalized treatment plan, and honest answers to any questions. There is no pressure to commit to anything at your first visit — we give you the information and let you decide what is right for you.
Dental Emergencies & Pain Relief
Dental emergencies don’t follow office hours — and we understand that a severe toothache or broken tooth can’t always wait. If something unexpected happens outside of regular hours, Dr. Sugg and her team are reachable directly through our after-hours messaging system. We will do everything we can to see you the same day.
Pain management is something we take seriously at every single visit — not just emergencies. Before any procedure, Dr. Sugg and her team will talk through your comfort level and put a plan in place so you feel at ease from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Dental Insurance
We process claims for all insurance providers and submit all required documentation directly on your behalf. Your insurance company reimburses you directly, and our team will help you understand your coverage before treatment begins so there are no surprises.
