Our team will review your medical and dental history and examine your mouth and teeth to create a custom treatment around your specific needs.

A Smile Built to Last
Missing teeth can make you feel self-conscious about your smile, which can hold you back from talking, smiling, and laughing. However, dentures are not right for everyone.
If you are looking for a more permanent, natural-looking, and functional solution, consider dental implants. Our hand-crafted implants offer the stability, longevity, functionality, and appearance that other tooth replacement options simply cannot. Unlike removable dentures or bridges, dental implants are permanently fixed to your jawbone, providing a more natural and comfortable feel.
What To Expect
Our Process
After numbing your mouth, we will insert a titanium implant post into the socket of your missing tooth. Then, we will attach an abutment to the post after the jawbone has grown securely around the implant (usually within 6 to 12 weeks).
During this process, a dental laboratory will fabricate an abutment and crown from our 3D implant scan which will confirm the perfect fit.

Optimizing Your Experience
You may experience some discomfort during the healing process, such as swelling around the gums and face, slight bruising, pain at the implant site, and minor bleeding. However, these side effects are completely normal. Proper care and medication can keep them under control and expedite your recovery.
Preparing for Dental Implants
- Do not eat or drink for several hours before the procedure to minimize risks.
- Cut down or stop smoking as early as possible prior to the day of surgery.
- Take any medications, such as antibiotics, before surgery as directed by your doctor.
Recovering from Dental Implants
- Carefully follow all post-procedure instructions provided by our team.
- Clean the implant and surrounding teeth regularly to prevent infection or improper healing.
- If your implant feels loose or causes pain, contact Ocean Aesthetics and Dental immediately.

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of biocompatible materials, such as titanium. Unlike dentures, a dental surgeon permanently implants these into your jawbone to support replacement teeth.
The best candidates for dental implants have good oral and overall health, adequate bone density in the jaw to support the implant, and healthy gums. We will evaluate your medical and dental history to determine if dental implants are right for you.
With proper care and maintenance, dental implants can last a lifetime. However, their longevity depends on how well you stick to best oral hygiene practices, regular dental check-ups, and other healthy habits.
At Ocean Aesthetics and Dental, we can restore dental implants if there’s been an issue with them. There’s almost no discomfort involved from our implant recovery treatment.
Getting dental implants in Hilton Head usually takes several months and involves multiple appointments, as this is a permanent solution. The process includes an initial consultation and evaluation, implant placement surgery, osseointegration (the process of the implant fusing with the jawbone), and placement of the final restoration.
Yes, dental implants can replace a single missing tooth, multiple missing teeth, or even an entire arch of missing teeth. Depending on your specific case, we may recommend individual implants, implant-supported bridges, or implant-supported dentures such as the All-on-4 system.
You care for dental implants similar to how you care for your natural teeth. Sticking to a consistent, at-home oral hygiene routine which includes brushing, flossing, and antibacterial mouthwash is key. Routine dental cleanings and check-ups are also important to ensure the long-term success of your implants.
Coverage for dental implants varies depending on your insurance plan. While some plans may cover a portion of the cost of dental implants, others may not. It is best to check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage options.
While smoking can negatively affect the success rate of dental implants by affecting the healing process and increasing the risk of complications, smokers may still qualify for implants. However, quitting smoking or reducing smoking habits can improve the chances of successful implant placement and long-term stability.
